An almost 130 years old building, which previously was owned by a Jewish family, is now restored and opened as a boutique hotel at 2021. Located close to Galata tower, so close that when you have a bath you can nearly touch it from window, it is a very promising stay at Istanbul city. Specifically, Meroddi Barnathan Hotel, being at the heart of the city and also offering great hospitality to visitors, is the ideal accommodation if you visit Istanbul.
THE HOTEL: The building is all about charm! It is decorated with stylish furniture, beautiful objects and family photos that reveal the glory of its past. The interior staircase is such a beauty, I loved it so much, that I use to get to the reception by the stairs, just to admire it. At the 1st floor, photo and art exhibitions are hosted to its wonderful areas, and this is a chance for visitors get familiar with some art. Excellent idea!
ROOMS: All rooms and suites are decorated with such a taste! Marvelous painted walls, amazing floor bathroom tiles and nice stylish furniture that give to each room a special character. We loved the comfy beds, and linen and all amenities like the coffee machine with complimentary capsules, everyday water bottles and the bathrobes.
Most rooms offer great views to different parts of the city and the room we stayed was such a surprise, since it had views to both Bosphorus and the Sultanahmet area. Mentioning the view, the most amazing one was from the bathroom which looked straight at the Galata tower. What a blessing to have your bath and look at it, night or day!
TASTES: Out hotel offers a delicious breakfast with many Turkish and continental tastes to its top floor and terrace. We enjoyed our coffee, the stunning Galata tower, and the sense of liberty it gives you this terrace. It also offers food and very good drinks at evenings, where all the city lights make it even more unbelievable. The Barnathan Brasserie, another cosy spot of the hotel, is the place to enjoy your lunch or dinner, which we did with pleasure.
HOSPITALITY: Having mentioned the hospitality, I must say that the housekeeping and service of the hotel are immaculate. Rooms are cleaned and furnished daily with all amenities. All people who work here are extremely professional but yet warm and friendly. There are ready to help you, either it concerns your stay or some city question, and they will book your airport transfer in good prices too.
LOCATION: We are so convinced that Istanbul is a stunning multi cultural city, where we would love to return from time to time and live its vibes. Our stay at Batnathan hotel this time, was an excellent one, we can’t wait to be back and discover more hidden gems of the city, because it’s really an endless source of experiences and places to explore. We totally appreciate the fact that this hotel is located in the most convenient neighborhood, from where you have the chance to walk to most sights and points of interest, near shopping and bars, restaurants and traditional pastry shops.
