Sicily: the largest Italian island, the region of Greek ancient colonies, a famous volcano, amazing sandy beaches and wonderful cities. The island of big differences, of olive trees and excellent seafood was our home for a short trip! It was love at 1st sight! It reminded us of south Greece and Crete, the nature is so familiar, the people we met were friendly and helpful, the food was so Mediterranean, the beaches amazingly crystal clear and blue. Definitely worths visiting it and dedicate many days to explore it all!
Αs we didn’t have the time to explore the ancient Greek remains at the island or many cities, it was a 3 day trip on a warm and wonderful September, we dedicated our time the west part between Palermo and Trapani. We stayed just at the outskirts of the small citadel of Alcamo and had a wonderful relaxing short holiday. Relaxing time is much needed sometimes, so this is that we did.
